Template creation query

Question for Matt or Stuart...

I could use the RAW converter from Olympus (Olympus Studio) - which has a distortion correction option - to create files for stitching with PTMac.

Would this be a sensible option to use - or would PTMac prefer uncorrected images to callibrate?

One issue would be theat my final template would then only work with images produced by Olympus Studio - if I wnated to use say, CS2 at some point in the future, my original template wouldn't work and I'd have to re-do the calibration.

In the past Stitcher seemed to work OK without using corrected images - providing I used the high distortion calibration option of course.

Hi,

There’s no need to correct the images if you plan to use PTMac or PTGui … but Realviz Stitcher might produce better results if the images are corrected (or at least you can skip the High Distortion/Calibrate command ;) ).

Thanks for that - the 7-14mm seems not have much distortion anyway, so I 'll give PTMac a go without distortion correction see how it goes.
