Hello, I am a novice to panorama photography, and would like some advice. Which is the correct hole on the camera plate for the pin that goes into the base of the camera to lock it in place? when I go the arm it seemed to be in the wrong hole as the d200 was at an angle so I changed it. Have I done wrong?
I am very happy with the pictures so far but they all seem a litle tilted and not truly level - is this because I have moved the pin or can I adjust this tilt some how.?
thank you in advance, if you can help me. I have the arm set at 83 and 47 as Matt has instructed

Re: set up of 360 precision for D200Hi,
The correct position is shown here, http://www.360precision.com/360/images/ ... _large.jpg the pin must be directly under the thumbscrew. If the problem persists please use an other camera to take some pictures of your setup and upload them here.
Re: set up of 360 precision for D200Hello panman,
thank you for the reply. I have tried to attach a photo of the plate and pin position here, but to refuses to upload so have put it up with one of my panoramas here.http://fdotoole.com/panoramas/island2.html as you can see for form the panorama it is slightly off. Also, this is not the same plate as the one in the photo you sent the link to. Have I got the wrong plate? the pin is in the hole that is closest to being directly under the screw but it also seems slightly off centre. Fiacre
Re: set up of 360 precision for D200Hello,
The pin is exactly in the right place.
You have a newer version, which supports more camera bodies. The pin for Nikon D200 is in the same position.
This is not the kind of error which occurs when the camera is mounted incorrectly. It is a simple levelling problem. You probably forgot to level the head using the bubble level, but it can be easily fixed in PTGui, by setting vertical control points and reoptimizing your project. Here's a video tutorial by Hans Nyberg: http://www.panoramas.dk/panorama/tutori ... lling.html . If you still have problems, drop me a line, and I'll be more than happy to walk you through the process.
