If you have an Absolute head for the Canon 1D/s/MK1/MK2 and you upgrade to the MK3 we highly recommend purchasing an upgrade kit. If you have one of the very first 1D Absolute heads with the twin bar locking mechanism you can still use the same head with the Mk3. You do however loose the advantage the new custom mount offers. The new MK2 and MK3 camera arms offer a custom mounting solution that locks into the camera strap pin on the base of the camera. This removes the need to level the camera and guarantees absolute repeatability between shooting sessions.
MK3 upgrade kits are in-stock for the Canon 15mm and we'll have 8mm f3.5, 16-35, 17-40 and a range of 24-70 arms in-stock in the next 2-3 weeks. Camera tabs start at £95 and full upgrade kits from any other absolute to the MK3 start at £145. All prices are ex VAT and do not include shipping.
I'll be uploading photos of the new MK3 heads over the weekend with links to follow.
